Sculptra injectable is made from Poly-L-Lactic Acid that is a synthetic form of lactic acid produced naturally by your body following exercise. Sculptra is FDA-approved and contains no animal by-products or human DNA. Sculptra is a bio-activator and a collagen stimulator. It allows your collagen tissues to volumize gradually. Over time, Poly-L-Lactic Acid dissipates, and your tissues take their place. The product triggers your body to build collagen, and the results of Sculptra injections are gradual, leaving your changes natural and subtle.

Sculptra gradually creates a more youthful-looking appearance over time by stimulating collagen production, thickening the skin, and increasing facial volume. Results start to appear in 4-6 weeks but continue to gradually appear over several months. Results may vary but usually last 2-5 years. Virtually any area of the face including temples, mid and lower face can be treated with our experienced injectors. We do not recommend treatment close to the mouth or eyes.

By age 25, our skin starts to produce collagen at a slower rate. By age 30, we start to notice the effects of volume loss. Other factors such as genetics and lifestyle can cause earlier onset of volume loss and aging. Therefore, the best age to get these injections is when you are at least 21 and are concerned about the appearance of extreme volume loss.
If you are concerned with deep folds and volume loss, you should consider Sculptra. You can improve your contours and volumize your face with this effective PLLA-based injectable that can be used to volumize virtually any region including cheeks, temples, jawline, neck and chest. It is not recommended for lip augmentation or improving the appearance of the upper eyelids or tear trough. We recommend avoiding treatment if you have an allergy to any of the ingredients, infection at the proposed injection site(s), recent illness , history of abnormal scarring, pregnancy or breast feeding, or autoimmune disease.
You will need to come with a clean face or treatment area. We will clean the area and apply numbing for your comfort. Patients report this treatment as very tolerable with little to no discomfort. We usually expect to need one vial per decade of life but this can vary from person to person. Treatment session is usually about one hour with only 15-20 minutes needed for actual injection.
You will need to notify your injector if you take any prescription or over the counter blood thinners, vitamin E, fish oil, ibuprofen, or garlic supplements. We also recommend avoiding alcohol and tobacco for 24 hours prior to your injections.
After your treatment, you need to protect your skin from sun damage for at least 72 hours. You should also avoid vigorous exercise and other activities that may make you sweat for 72 hours. You may have a little bit of redness, swelling, and bruising at the injection site. You will be instructed to massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times per day, for 5 days.
